I Want Your Skull #9

Issue number nine of the art mag I Want Your Skull was released yesterday. It features an interior page with a previously unpublished piece I created last year.

Visit the following link for more information, and to order a copy: http://www.iwantyourskull.com

They are all hand-numbered out of an edition of 350, so once they're gone -- they're gone. I got my copy in the mail yesterday and it looks absolutely fantastic.

Thanks go out to Ryan August for putting together such an intriguing project and piece of art. -- S.

Mittenfields Poster

This is a gig poster design for the DC band Mittenfields. We've been watching Alice & Wonderland on repeat in my household, so I guess this my take on an unbirthday party.

The robot C-3PO looking guy was inspired by a piece I saw down in the Savannah, GA junk store, Universe Trading Co. I twitpic'd this guy -- and low and behold he ended up in an illustration of mine. Funny how that sometimes works.

You can catch Mittenfields at the Velvet lounge in DC on June 18th. For more info,
visit here.

BTW -- We're up to 37 pages of Panda Force! Keep up with it here: http://pandaforcecomic.com

And tell you're friends! Sharing is caring.-- S.

KAERU-BOY!

When asked by Darrin Stephens to create a pin-up for his comic KAERU-BOY there was no way I could turn down the opportunity. The comic is THAT awesome. Really great kids comics -- that are fun, with a good message -- are hard to come by these days, and Darrin and writer Jorge Vega nailed it. You can view their previous work together on the Zuda strip Aliens vs. Ninja vs. Samurai.

KAERU-BOY, Book 1 is now available for the iPad for just 99 cents. To the left is a cropping of my pin-up, but to see the rest buy the app! Below is the description pulled from Darrin's site:

"KAERU-BOY (book 1 of 2) is the manga charged tale of a dyslexic kid who discovers he can read the secret language of superheroes, turning him into one.

Dead parents, dyslexia, no friends and a family that just doesn’t understand him…KAERU-BOY is an angry kid who’s got every reason to hate the world but he’s the only one with the power to save it.

In case you’re wondering, Kaeru (pronounced Ky-Ru) is Japanese for “frog”."

Also in the news... Panda Force is up to 35 pages! Drop by and check it out. -- S.
